R6 Live Match Features Return!

Yes, we’re back! Live match and video highlight features are re-enabled for PC players on our desktop app!

There are still some remaining issues to resolve:

• Stats saving after matches (you can still view match history on the site/mobile app as usual)
• Live match roster list updates for players that join later in the match.

A fix for these issues was tested, however it triggers a different issue which requires investigation.

Why did it go down?

Our app uses Overwolf to get live match data, Overwolf was causing some player’s game to crash when loading into the main menu. Just as Overwolf resolved this issue, Ubisoft instructed BattlEye to temporarily block Overwolf from launching. Bad timing, right…

Why did it take so long to resolve the issues?

Overwolf reached out to Ubisoft the same day they got blocked. Thankfully, Ubisoft were very happy to help.

Overwolf, Ubisoft and BattlEye were all working together to make some changes to how Overwolf interacts with the game. It took time to find the ideal solution and all parties had to review the changes for each new version.

Once all parties were happy with the implementation, it was slowly rolled out to the public and monitored before releasing further.

As we were not directly involved in these discussions, information did take a while to get handed down to us. It was hard to predict when all issues would be resolved unfortunately.

After all these discussions, we're confident that there will be longer term stability. Thanks again for waiting so long.
